115 accused including 15 in 8 NDPS cases arrested. 5 Pistols seized

KAITHAL: Apart from maintaining peace and law and order in the district, the police has achieved remarkable success in November by acting against criminals . 115 accused have been arrested in 89 cases of liquor, drug smuggling, theft, robbery, burglary, illegal weapons possession etc.

Giving information, the police spokesperson said that during the month of November, while tightening the noose on criminals against property, 47 accused in 30 cases were arrested and stolen public property worth Rs 17.99 lakh was recovered from their possession. During the last month, a special drive was launched against drug trafficking criminals and 15 accused were arrested by registering 8 cases under the NDPS Act. A large quantity of narcotics worth lakhs of rupees including 350 kg 675 grams of doda poppy, 6 kg 190 grams of ganja, 505 grams of opium, 29.100 grams of heroin and 2500 intoxicating pills were recovered from their possession.

During the month of November, 45 accused have been arrested in 45 cases registered under the Excise Act, from whose possession 257 bottles of country liquor, 292 bottles of hard liquor and 1280 liters of lahan were recovered. Cracking down on criminals possessing illegal arms and ammunition, 5 accused in 3 cases were arrested and 5 illegal country-made pistols and 12 cartridges were recovered. In 3 cases of Gambling/Betting Act, 3 accused were arrested and Rs 6850 were recovered. Apart from this, during the month of November, police arrested 22 bell jumpers and 5 P.O. The accused was controlled.

SP Upasana said that the first responsibility of the police is to protect the life and property of the common people. . The SP has also appealed to the general public to fearlessly report any suspicious activity to the police immediately, so that action can be taken in time.
